100 things

This is post 100...so...100 random things from Shannon...maybe you'll learn something, maybe I'll bore myself...who knows!!!
  1. I was never ever ever going to have a blog
  2. I have learned than I shouldn't say NEVER
  3. I was born in Kelowna
  4. I was the third generation of the Stewart family to be born in KGH
  5. I miss my tiny bedroom from the house on Hobson Crescent
  6. Last night I slept about 5 hours, which is a few hours more than I have been sleeping
  7. I love strawberries
  8. I want a real puppy
  9. Chandra is going to help me make a balcony garden
  10. Doing dishes is therapeutic
  11. I hate the travelling part of travelling. I just want to be where I'm going
  12. I used to think I was impatient, but this year I learned that I can actually be very patient
  13. Saturday is my favourite day of the week
  14. Doughsee was my first pet
  15. My grandma and I came home with her one day
  16. She got hit by a car and I was very sad
  17. I went "deaf" when my sisters were born
  18. My first Cabbage Patch was named Pauline Jane
  19. I wanted a brother
  20. My favourite books include Little Women, the English Patient and Harry Potter
  21. I love writing letters and getting letters in the mail makes me smile for days
  22. I hate renting
  23. Somedays I wonder why I do my job
  24. I've been in Girl Guides for 22 years
  25. I've known Fifers for 22 years
  26. I've known Michelle all my life
  27. I still love going "home" to my parents' house and I get sad when it's time to leave
  28. I'm scared of being lonely when I get old
  29. I've been to 13 countries
  30. I've lived in four countries
  31. I have sent more than 100 Christmas cards in one year
  32. I have a postcard collection that I started when I was seven
  33. I used to get carsick thinking about long car trips and on every single family trip we took; now I only get carsick sometimes
  34. Of all my butterflies, all but one were gifts
  35. I am an obsessive knitter
  36. I am an obsessive paper collector
  37. I was totally stunned and completely amazed when I got my Silver Merit award
  38. I still don't think I deserve it
  39. My "book" from Pax Lodge can make me homesick for somewhere that wasn't home and make me happy at the same time
  40. I have more photos in boxes waiting to be put into albums than photos in albums
  41. I love drinking coffee
  42. I hate aspartame
  43. I don't wear any jewelry except a watch and sometimes a necklace
  44. Some days I hate taking a shower because I hate being wet. Most days I love taking a shower and have to force myself to get out of the shower so I'm not late for work
  45. I am on a crazy naturopath diet (I cheat sometimes) but as hard as it can be, it's working (except when I cheat more than one day in a row)
  46. My current bed is the most comfortable bed I've ever owned
  47. I refuse to buy cheap (as in poorly made/poor quality, not necessarily low priced) shoes, linens, toilet paper/facial tissue or cheese
  48. Telemarketers who won't leave me alone drive me nuts
  49. Sometimes I give people too many chances
  50. Vinyl Cafe + coffee + The Globe and Mail = great Sunday morning
  51. I'm a Cancer - I'm a homebody and I really don't like clubbing or parties where I don't know anyone
  52. I turn red when people look at me and I have to talk to lots of people or people I don't know and when I laugh and when I get angry or upset and when I get flustered and pretty much I'm red MOST of the time
  53. Fifers says I have an incredible memory and probably remember more of her childhood than she does...sometimes I agree with her, but lately, it's beginning to fail
  54. Even though I can remember most things from our childhoods, I can't remember meeting Fifers, all I know is that I have this memory of talking to her on the playground one day, and it's my first memory of her and I know that I'd known her for a while by then
  55. I did grade one 1.5 times
  56. I met Alex a year ago
  57. I still need my parents
  58. I talk to my parents at least every Sunday unless I'm out of the country or they're out of the country
  59. My favourite cities so far have been Copenhagen and Geneva (London's not so bad either)
  60. I really really really want to go to Italy, to the East coast where my dad's family came from
  61. I hate Paris, but I always dream about going there
  62. When I get there, I always remember that I hate it
  63. I love Paperchase
  64. I love the stretch of Charing Cross Road from the Paperchase at Tottenham Court Road to Leicester Square
  65. The smell of Pax Lodge makes me happy!
  66. I was happier than I'd been for a long time when I first went to Pax Lodge
  67. I finished my degree so that I had a finished degree, not because I knew (or some days even liked) what I was doing at university
  68. I learned more from life outside the classroom than from the classes I paid for
  69. I lived in Hawaii for two years
  70. Boarding school is both nothing like the books say and everything like the books say
  71. I thought maybe I was going to boot camp, the rule book had so many rules in it, but somehow all those rules gave me a ton of freedom
  72. Boardgames are a great way to spend an afternoon or an evening
  73. I hate moving
  74. I love cooking
  75. I don't know what I want to do when I grow up
  76. My family is the most important thing in my life, followed closely by my friends
  77. Alex's family has already become part of *my* family
  78. I feel extremely lucky to have the friends I have
  79. Sometimes I think that I have more than my share of friends and feel bad because maybe I'm a friend hog
  80. Alex is one of the most important people in my life
  81. I miss the house at Christina Lake
  82. I miss my dog Rex
  83. I miss my grandpa
  84. I'm glad my friends are here - I needed them to help me out and take care of me this week
  85. I liked Australia but I would never go back except that three good friends live there
  86. I want to go to Ireland for an extended period of time even though they think it's strange that I'm named after a river
  87. I want to do a road trip across Canada
  88. I want to move back to Kelowna one day
  89. It hurts to see how much Alex's mom is suffering
  90. I can't believe how supportive people can be when they don't even know someone
  91. After my family, Guiding is my safety net and my support
  92. My sisters are amazing people and I think I'm lucky to have them
  93. I take too many pictures with my digital camera
  94. I'm addicted to books
  95. I would love to live overseas again, but only if I can take my whole family with me
  96. I don't like zoos
  97. I'm afraid of birds
  98. When I run into Sammy, the woman I assisted in a former life, I always leave feeling grumpy and slightly sick to my stomach
  99. I enjoy my current boss - mostly because he is very flexible and accommodating and treats me like a real person
  100. Today I feel totally at ease, really happy and I think I'm content!

  3. thanks guys! Do it Heddy...I didn't think I'd get 100 and the first ones were hard, but then the last 20 or so were easy. Just make sure you set aside some time or do it in spurts or something!

  5. One of my favorite books is also Little women (Mujercitas) I read it 16 times, can you belive it!!!! 16 times...and I would read it again.
