moving is a comedy

Got up early this morning and went to a meeting and then went straight to Fifers so we could go meet Alex at his house. Commercial Drive was insane - it was Saturday and the Sunday walkers were out early, the really *smart* bicycler types were trying to ride up and down the sidewalk and Italy was playing in the World Cup...People were crowded around restaurant and cafe windows trying for a glimpse of some football action.

Today would have been a great day to go for lunch on the Drive. Just pick a restaurant with no tv and you'd have your pick of tables!

Anyway, after battling the crowds, Fifers and I moseyed on over to Alex's where we took charge of the stuff and managed to pack him up and out into two cars in an hour and a half...ever seen a dust farm? We got everything except one piece of furniture. After a quick unload, we got ourselves some much deserved sushi and then Alex and I came home to do some rearranging, dish washing and organizing.

I can't believe we've done the big move already...sometime next fall was the original plan and then July 1, but I hate being alone in this house at night, so here we are...It's kind of nice and this place it soooooo big that everything fit with room to spare!

  1. Yay! Congrats guys.

By the way - right now, there are no restaurants on the Drive without TV - I think it's a new rule.

    And yes it's 3 F-ing AM!
Looks like I've caught your damned insomnia cooties.
